Healthcare Initiative
Since early 2003, we have had a proactive initiative to identify investment opportunities in the healthcare services and medical products sectors. Spearheaded by Jed Johnson, this effort targets growing, profitable healthcare-related companies in conjunction with our operating partner, Tom Fortin. In May 2004, we completed our initial healthcare services investment in Senex Financial Corporation <www.senex.com>, among the leading providers of capital to hospitals and other healthcare providers via the purchase and collection of charged-off, self-pay accounts receivable.
Family Firm Institute
Consistent with our institutional emphasis on Parntership with Management, Parallel has committed a substantial portion of our time and energy to pursuing investments in family owned businesses. Since 2001, we have been a sponsor of the Family Firm Institute (FFI), and participate in its conferences to educate family firm owners and advisors on the benefits, potential pitfalls, structural elements and rewards resulting from private equity partnerships. Association for Corporate Growth
We have had a strong relationship with the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), for more than a decade, as an active member and sponsor at multiple levels.
